White Town只是英国音乐家Jyoti Mishra的个人化身，这种概念在国外很常见，有时候只是为选一个有意思的名字，也有人会选用不同的化身来实施不同的音乐计划。Jyoti Mishra算不上多出名，甚至在上世纪九十年代只出过三张唱片的White Town也在商业上没有太大的建树。1997年的这张Women In Technology曾获得不错的评价，我起初只是在电视上看到了那首滚动播出的Your Woman的MV才留意到White Town这个名字。后来淘碟的时候收了这张专辑，却喜欢上另外一首歌，便是今天推荐的Undressed。
我只听过White Town的一张专辑，说不上了解，只是Undressed一直都在我的List里，其实我对White Town的好感大概也是由于其音乐元素中八十年代新浪潮味道浓重，这首Undressed乍一听实在让人忍不住会想起那个黄金年代来。八十年代是一个性感的年代，这首歌也只是写了一个泡妞的男人的小心思，简单直接，而音乐提供的浪漫环境，会让你觉得这个实际上一心想拉你上床的男人挺有趣挺绅士的。音乐表达情感，所呈现的也就是人性本身。西方经历了性感年代，而中国似乎只是到了互联网普及才迎来了色情时代。
当各种门户网站飘动的擦边球的性暗示广告、中文版MSN广告栏里恶俗的挑逗文字成为网络里一道靓丽的风景，当口水歌里拐弯抹角地讲述一个流氓玩弄女人之后的虚伪的犯罪感让人们以为“这个杀手不太冷”的时候，我们就越来越不知道什么是性感了。尽管越来越多的女明星女歌手们都以所谓火爆着装去挑逗男人们的眼睛，男人们也纷纷露出胸大肌假装B-Cup，可这些拙劣的表现看多了也不过是几斤随时会松懈的人肉而已。
其实说这些屁话跟这首歌没什么关系，或者这本来也只是一首英文的口水歌而已，不过我在音乐里没有听到欺骗，而是一种性感的美好。
