尽管Soul Asylum走红的时候正是Grunge当道的上世纪九十年代初，甚至因为整体造型都接近Grunge的邋遢打扮而被归入其中，但其实他们早在80年代初就已经出道并发表了作品。不过他们的确是因为1992年发表的Grave Dancer’s Union中这首畅销单曲Runaway Train在商业上获得的成功才确立了他们的地位。想起他们不仅仅是因为Runaway Train一直在我的播放列表里，主要还是因为最近在听今年他们发表的新专辑Silver Lining。很多乐队在90年代走红之后，到了2000年之后都纷纷销声匿迹，而近期却重返乐坛，这些乐队大都不会迎合现在的流行趋势，而是依旧走老路线，Soul Asylum也是一样，在我看来他们更大程度上是一支民谣成份更多的摇滚乐队，今年的新片也是承袭这个路线。
本来应该推荐新歌才是，但的确新专辑里的作品听了几遍都未能给我留下太深刻的印象，虽说也很好听，但象Runaway Train这样份量的作品已经没有了。其实这首歌曲式非常简单，主部与高潮的和声甚至旋律基本都是一样，除了中间过桥部分的转调，其他基本上一直是在重复，但也正是这样简单的旋律，在不同的嗓音演绎与器乐编配的起承转合中，完成了这首经典作品。
98年我组建Green Fingers的时候，曾经在“忙蜂”翻唱这首歌，一晃都这么多年了，听起来仍旧那么率真。

觉得高潮部分的嗓音音色不错，主部的调子太溜了点。。。
