少年时期听重金属/硬摇滚的时候，正是这类音乐在商业上大放异彩的时代，相信每个经历过那个年代的摇滚乐迷的记忆里都有不少难忘的名字。尽管随着年龄的增长，涉猎领域越来越广泛，加之音乐流派的更新换代，让我们的注意力越来越分散，但偶尔重新去关注那些曾经耀眼的传奇团体，还是会有收获。
White Lion是我喜欢的一支乐队，可能正象某些乐迷所说的，由于主唱Mike Tramp出生在丹麦，从小接受的并不是美式的布鲁斯音乐，因此他领军的White Lion与很多同时期不太一样，但无论怎么说，White Lion还是拥有所有80年代走红流行金属乐队的特色：漂亮的外表、动听的旋律、高亢的嗓音、过硬的技巧。我去韩国出差的时候，还曾经买过一张White Lion的精选集。
Mike Tramp个人发展之后，我也陆续搜集了他的专辑，与之前相比其实变化并不太大，只是岁数大了便不再象以前那么勇猛，尽管他以White Lion名义也发表过演唱旧作的现场专辑，但听他的个人专辑味道更纯粹一些。
最近他又有新片Freak Of Nature发表，而我放上这首2002年收录在Recovering The Wasted Years里的作品Darkness，编曲上采取的是相对中庸的方式，不会太陈旧也没有赶时髦，但足够舒适动听。
